Changing of the Seasons…

Summer is always one of my favorite times of the year… But there is something about fall in Summit County that is perfect. The cold breeze in the morning, while walking your pup in groves of aspen trees that are changing. Farmers markets in Dillon and Breckenridge, fall festivals in Frisco, and free pumpkin patches in Silverthorne.

Fall foliage viewing is spectacular in so many places. Some of my favorite places for fall hikes are Guanella Pass, Kenosha Pass, Kebler Pass, and Hoosier Pass. If you are looking for a more relaxing fall activity be sure to bring the family down to the Frisco Bay Marina for a fall picnic. The Island Grill is closed for the summer, but there are plenty of public benches to enjoy a nice lunch at. If you enjoy fishing check out the Old Dillon Reservoir. This quick hike through aspen groves is one everyone should enjoy during fall. Here you can enjoy fall fishing, with amazing views of the New Dillon Reservoir.  This hike is dog-friendly, so please be aware there may be dogs swimming and enjoying the spectacular views too.

After your favorite fall activity be sure to check out Rising Sun Distillery. They have a delicious menu of fall-forward cocktails. This local distillery has a variety of small appetizers too! One of my favorite things to snack on is the house-made pickles and the vegetarian curry.
